Programming Instructions for BENZ IR NEC Key with ESL
You read and program the EEPROM of the CPU from the Steering Lock Module via the 38-pin diagnostic connector.
Desolder and read, using a programming tool, the two CPUs from the Electronic Ignition Control Module. Load these EEPROMs into the programmer.
Desolder the NEC CPU from the key, solder it onto the programming device, select the key nuMBer, and program it. Then resolder all CPUs back to their original positions and start the car.
You can program new keys without the vehicle—using only the EIS and steering lock modules.
You can read these CPUs using a compatible programming tool (e.g., ETL) for Motorola CPUs such as the 68HC705X16(32).
