Does AK500 PRO Support mercedes Benz W204 After 2008?
Answer: So far, AK500 PRO doesn't support NEC EEPROM key programming, but it does support AK500 Pro NEC EEPROM key calculation.
W204 uses NEC EEPROM; therefore, AK500 Pro neither supports W204 nor the following mercedes Benz models: W204, W207, W221, W218, and W164 after 2008, where the EIS model CPU is NEC.
Important Notice on KEYLESS GO Function
If you want to use the KEYLESS GO function: the key used to make a new key must be a new and blank key—it cannot be a used key. The new key must be of the same type and frequency as the original Keyless Go key. Otherwise, it will not support the Keyless Go function.
AK500 handles ESL by reading out original ESL data, generating new key data, and writing the new data (.binw) back to the ESL. (Currently, a 32GB hard disk database is required to renew ESL.)
When dealing with W203 ECU, if your ECU is Siemens and does not have an EEPROM: read the flash of the ECU, then perform renewal. Then use MB STAR to complete the process.
AK500 PRO can write Keyless Go keys. But you must write via IR. (Your Keyless Go key must be completely new or blank. If your key is old and data has been read out, it cannot be written again—you must renew it first before writing.)
How AK500 PRO Selects Keys
Mercedes Benz KEYLESS GO keys come in two styles: old style with black edge and new style with electroplating edge.
- When using a new-style key with electroplating edge for KEYLESS GO, if the original key has a black edge, then the Keyless Go key must also have a black edge. (The key must be fully new and blank or refreshed to blank, and the remote control frequency must match the original key frequency.)
- If the original key has an electroplating edge, then the KEYLESS GO key must also have the same electroplating edge. (The key must also be fully new and blank or refreshed to blank. Do not use an old-style KEYLESS GO key with a black edge—otherwise, it will not support the KEYLESS GO function.)
