Ford/Mazda Immobilizer Chip Types

The Magic Wand supports three types of Ford/Mazda immobilizer chips:

1. 4D63 (40bit/DST40) – small capacity
2. 83 (40bit/DST40) – small capacity
3. 83 (80bit/DST80) – big capacity

Magic Wand User Manual

Power Supply Requirements

Power supply: Use a USB charger rated above 5V 1.5A. Charge the Magic Wand using an Android phone USB cable.

Important: Sub-standard power supplies may impair device functionality or cause the Magic Wand to stop working.

Read Function

Use the “Read” button to read a chip. Insert the chip into the slot and press “Read.”

• Successful read: Displays chip ID; green indicator flashes continuously. The device is then ready to copy.
• Failed read: Red indicator flashes continuously.

To copy: Remove the original chip, insert a compatible blank chip for the Magic Wand, and press “Write.” A successful copy displays the chip ID with a flashing green light. Failure results in a flashing red light.

Write Function (Generate and Copy Chips)

Generate a chip: Insert a blank chip, select the desired chip ID using the number buttons, then press “Write.”

• Success: Green indicator flashes; chip ID is displayed.
• Failure: Red indicator flashes—possible causes include incorrect or incompatible chip.

Copy Function

First, successfully read the source chip to obtain its ID. Then press “Write” to copy it to a compatible blank chip.

• Success: Green indicator flashes; chip ID is displayed.
• Failure: Red indicator flashes—chip may be incompatible.

How to Use the Magic Wand

To generate a Ford/Mazda 83 (DST80) chip:

1. Insert an original 4D70 blank chip into the slot.
2. Press number buttons “8” and “3.”
3. Press “Write.” A flashing green indicator confirms success.
4. Place the chip back into the key shell.
5. When adding the key via a key programmer, position the Magic Wand close to the ignition coil with the key passing through the center hole of the Magic Wand.
6. Follow your key programmer’s prompts to complete the process.

Original 4D70 Blank Chip (Also Known as 4D60 with Big Capacity)

The original 4D70 blank chip (DST80), also referred to as 4D60 with big capacity, is backward-compatible with small-capacity systems.
